While I wholeheartedly agree with the value of transparency and often a union, I do have a couple of reservations about your comments on dues and compensation. I know nothing in particular about this particular employer, employees or any organization.

During the certification drive, dues and compensation for the organizers will often be very low. This is to ensure there is a low bar to membership and not to burden a fledgling organization. If a bargaining agent is certified for the players dues necessary to employ staff for the union will be charged and will be more substantial than $20. The organizers are making an investment in organizing the players whether they intend to profit from the effort or not.

You do not have to have an agent to negotiate your deal with a team. You can use your dad or your partner, lots of pros do. But it sure make sense to me that there should be some kind of body to advocate for and represent the majority of payers.
