Indeed Duane! Success will trump all but why did he find it necessary to apply to NZ when the situation here is entirely to his benefit. Was it an angle to improve his contract? We can't forget that there are still questions as to just how he made the CWNT to the CMNT.

Yes, he's been getting a free pass from the fans but should he be? Don't get me wrong, I'm a supporter and I recognize his achievements but I also recognize his shortcomings.

I'll finish by saying that he badly needs to add a tactician to his coaching staff asap.

Speaking of the CSA, what's the latest on the contact with the CMNT players, if 'contract' is the right word. We're their expectations regarding a share of the WC money met? What applies for upcoming competitions?

Fundamentally they CSA doesn't have enough money to pay both the CANWNT and CANMT what they want. CSA didn't have enough money to arrange a friendly with argentina. On and On the organization is cash strapped and it has to do with the CSB deal. Which may have sounded like a good deal at the time they signed it (unlikely) but was very short sighted with a home WC coming. I can continue. How is it that CSA sign a deal for the TV rights and ad rights for 3 million a year and then CSB turns around right away and sells the rights for 10 million a year.

Look I agree that Herdman should be subject to criticism. But the job he did getting through that 20+ match qualifying, finishing in 1st was just amazing. The performance at the world cup was a failure. But something that CSA has to take part of the blame for. Cancelling prep matches, not having the money to arrange others. Getting into confrontation with the players. All have to do with the CSA and the lack of funds due to this ridiculous deal with the CSB. A deal that they could have walked away from or at least tried to renegotiate. This team is doing well in spite of the CSA/CSB due to the quality of the players.
